“it’s roughly twice as good as Peter Gabriel’s Shaking The Tree.”
Boo!
You’re unbanned!
Try not to call everyone a fag, or you’ll be stuck in the moderation queue again, Johnny!
Meanwhile, where’s rubberjohnny0839?
Maybe this blog wasn’t big enough for the both of you.
You’re right! The Tom Petty appearance makes it 10. Will fix…
That’s much easier to read. Will swap the link. Thanks Cameron.
This too:
There’s a specific time on Friday AM; I think it’s different on Videogum and Stereogum… I gotta check w/ our dev team what it is exactly because I forget.
I went to the press preview. She was an hour late, then holed up in a backroom and didn’t want to speak to the press. I met her briefly, though, and she was very nice and claimed to know what Stereogum is.

Credit goes to me, because I ripped it myself from the BBC stream. It only took 10 minutes. What software do you use?
Thanks!
I also love mid-’80s Sting so that might explain it.
This was one of my favorite songs of 2011, and I’m still not sick of it.
“3 Second Rule” is the new “Hot Problems”
If anyone else is curious about the status of the Buzz Chart, we’re discussing here. Feedback appreciated!
Videogum kid grown up and race-changed.
Stopped doing the Buzz Chart this month, yeah.
Does anyone miss it? It was a bitch to make in Photoshop every week and didn’t get many comments, but …
Maybe it should be monthly?
I cleaned it up a little, hope it reads clearer now.
“He was my bosom buddy friend to the end, one of the last true great spirits of my or any other generation. This is just so sad to talk about. I still can remember the first day I met him and the last day I saw him. We go back pretty far and had been through some trials together. I’m going to miss him, as I’m sure a whole lot of others will too.”
- Bob Dylan
“When I heard The Band’s Music from Big Pink, their music changed my life. And Levon was a big part of that band. Nigel Olson, my drummer, will tell you that every drummer that heard him was influenced by him. He was the greatest drummer and a wonderful singer and just a part of my life that was magical. They once flew down to see me in Philadelphia and I couldn’t believe it. They were one of the greatest bands of all time. They really changed the face of music when their records came out. I had no idea he was sick so I’m very dismayed and shocked that he died so quickly. But now my son [Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John] has his name.”
- Elton John
“Levon was the glue, not just in The Band, but in all of what people think of when they think of North American music. He was a great unifier; a great glue. He unified blues and country, rural and city, and even North and South. Luckily he showed us all the way to keep it together and let it swing.”
- Jeff Tweedy

I’m in Philly this weekend, but we have a special correspondent in Indio. Stay tuned..

To be clear, it isn’t a policy so much as a preference, but Tom did link the Beach House PE at the bottom of this post. Here it is again:
