I think this might be worse this rubberjohnny

Just know, this dude was smarter and more interestingly progressive for hip-hop than OF/Tyler will ever be.

I liked “Somebody That I Used to Know” better when it was an Elliott Smith song.

I like the songs I’ve heard from this joint but now that I know the RZA was supposed to show up to the recording session, I’m kind of disappointed he didn’t.

Oh boi, when’s that coming out?

When’s that Lemonade album coming out? “Neptune” was hella fine.

Not a fan of Drive at all but I can definitely get behind this album.

Post-Nothing was the perfect album to soundtrack the end of my senior year of high school. Sounds like this one’s gonna be the perfect album to soundtrack my senior year of college!

OF is fun again!! Also, Frank Ocean might be the coolest person on the planet right now

+4Posted on Mar 22nd | re: Premature Evaluation: Beach House Bloom (155 comments)

I’m still kind of confused. Is rubberjohnny real?

On another note, Beach House are fab!

I second that!

This beat is crazy.

I just can’t get enough of Charli XCX (though I think I would have put “Valentine” on this above “I’ll never Know”. Such a great loner Valentine’s Day song.)

Anyone else getting a Sonic Youth-y vibe (particularly from the vocals)? I mean that in the best way possible.

Yeah, the commenters don’t know what to do.

 +1Posted on Jan 12th | re: Coachella 2012 Lineup (183 comments)

“everyone who doesn’t love him kinda hates him”
I think you’re thinking of Conor Oberst. Also, Jeff Mangum’s been super reliable and totally on point throughout his tour so I doubt he’d just give up for Coachella.

 +5Posted on Jan 9th | re: Coachella 2012 Lineup (183 comments)

God, this is the best festival lineup I’ve ever seen. I wish anywhere even remotely close to California =(

 +3Posted on Jan 9th | re: Coachella 2012 Lineup (183 comments)

You have to see Jeff Mangum as soon as he’s within any reasonable distance of where you are. It’s beautiful. The first time I saw him this year was the only concert I’ve ever cried at. Also, why the hell is he billed so low on the Coachella poster?

 +2Posted on Jan 9th | re: At The Drive-In Reunite (27 comments)

Hmm, I found a tumblr that suggested this festival would be a one time reunion thing for At the Drive-In and it’s in Detroit. I really hope the reunion is more than that.

 +2Posted on Jan 9th | re: At The Drive-In Reunite (27 comments)

That would be so kickass if it were real.

 +1Posted on Jan 6th | re: 10 Classic Albums Released 10 Years Into A Band's Career (131 comments)

Word, I also thought FSHG was way worse than Album so I guess it’s just a matter of tastes. I’ll get around to checking some of this stuff out at some point though.

 +2Posted on Jan 6th | re: 10 Classic Albums Released 10 Years Into A Band's Career (131 comments)

Maybe I should give Dark Side more of a chance. It just all seemed really self-indulgent when I tried listening to it. And I fuckin’ hate “Money”.

 +2Posted on Jan 5th | re: 10 Classic Albums Released 10 Years Into A Band's Career (131 comments)

Yeah, Wish You Were Here is the album of theirs that I’ve liked. Haven’t heard Piper at the Gates of Dawn though so maybe I’d like that also.

I’m still not convinced that Pink Floyd is a good band.

Good call!
